Medical Gastroenterology & Digestion Care

Pentucket Medical’s Gastroenterology Department is one of the longest-standing groups of its kind in the Northeast, and the first to be established outside of Boston.

With offices located at our Haverhill, Newburyport and Riverwalk sites our board certified gastroenterologists diagnose and treat a wide range of stomach and intestinal issues.

We provide you with expert care in treating abdominal pain, gallstones, ulcers, abnormal bowel movements, heartburn, indigestion, hepatitis and diseases of the liver, pancreas and gallbladder. We also perform screenings for colorectal cancer.

Working in collaboration with primary care physicians and specialists, our gastroenterologists offer patients a wide array of medical treatment options to meet their needs. All screenings, and procedures are performed on-site at the Merrimack Valley Endoscopy Center and for more complex procedures patients are referred to Lawrence General Hospital and Mass General Hospital in Boston.

Merrimack Valley Endoscopy Center

Pentucket Medical’s Haverhill office is the home of Merrimack Valley Endoscopy Center, the area’s leading resource for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal disorders. Our difference-making technologies, such as carbon dioxide insuflation, capsule endoscopy and CO2 monitors are not available elsewhere in the region.

Merrimack Valley Endoscopy Center performs specialized diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including colonoscopy, gastroscopy, small bowel enteroscopy and esophageal dilation. As a unit of Pentucket Medical, Merrimack Valley Endoscopy Center is part of an integrated healthcare system with a fully-equipped imaging center within the same building.
