Our Commitment To Excellence – Our Commitment to You

Several types of screening, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures are performed at the Merrimack Valley Endoscopy Center by physicians specializing in endoscopy. This is a process that allows direct visualization of any cavity of the body with an endoscope. The physician can also take pictures, biopsies, dilate strictures and remove polyps during and endoscopy procedure.

Colonscopy

Colonoscopy is considered the “gold standard” in the diagnosis of colon diseases. This is the most effective way to detect and remove colon polyps that often develop into cancer. It is also used to diagnose diverticulosis, inflammatory bowel diseases infections and other disorders.

Gastroscopy

Gastroscopy (sometimes referred to as “upper endoscopy” or “EGD” ) is useful in diagnosing many GI disorders such as GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease), Barrett’s esophagus and peptic ulcer disease.

Esophageal Dilation

Esophageal Dilation is performed to stretch a narrowed esophagus, restoring the ability to eat and drink normally. Esophageal strictures occur for many reasons and can frequently be relieved with dilation.
