Pentucket Medical Partners Asthma Center: Helping Patients with Asthma Breathe a Little Easier

Pentucket Medical Associates announces its new alliance with the Partners Asthma Center, a multi-institutional, allergy and pulmonary medicine collaborative that specializes in the diagnosis, treatment and education of asthma.

About The Partners Asthma Center (PAC)

The Partners Asthma Center (PAC) is comprised of a team of allergists and pulmonologists at the Brigham and Women’s, Massachusetts General, Faulkner, Newton-Wellesley Hospitals, and the North Shore Medical Center, who provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for adults and children with asthma and related diseases.

Joining them will be PMA allergists John Hein, MD, Bryan Stone, MD, and Kristin Homze, NP and pulmonologists Charles Randall, MD and German Iosif, MD from our Newburyport, Haverhill and Riverwalk/Lawrence sites.

Through the new collaboration with PAC, Pentucket Medical’s pulmonary and allergy teams will continue to evaluate, diagnosis, treat and create individualized “action plans” for patients with difficult-to-control asthma. Patients will also have increased access to the leading authorities in the field of asthma care and research.

In addition, patient resources such as, Partners Asthma Center educational brochures in English and Spanish, books and videos; and quarterly newsletter, Breath of Fresh Air (also available in Spanish as Al Aire Libre) will be available.

Based on a study * of 37,000 children between the ages of 5-14, it was found that the prevalence of asthma was found to be 9.4 percent for the six Merrimack Valley communities combined. The town of Andover number of children affected being the lowest with 6.5 percent and Lawrence the highest with 12.2 percent.
