Biography

Dr. Maxfield earned her medical degree from LECOM at Seton Hill, then accepted a postdoctoral scholarship position in neuropathology from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Her research work there led her to become co-investigator of a multi-site FDA clinical trial, including sites within the Mass General Brigham system. She is excited to now call New England her home and join the Mass General Brigham family. “The science shows that health is impacted by our early experiences, on the epigenetic level, and is multi-dimensional throughout a lifetime. My focus is to deliver evidence-based healthcare in a way that addresses these dimensions, partnering with the patient–who is an integral member of the healthcare team.
