Thank you for remembering and sending the bean salad recipe. It is delicious! Also thank you for your excellent counsel on nutrition.
I have taken your advice about using a tracking application, and have found MyFitnessPal.com to be very helpful. I also bought a great cookbook from the American Heart Association. The result is that I have already lost 10 pounds and taken in a couple of belt loops.
Apparently my cholesterol levels are now "ideal" which is a nice change from "oh my, that's very high!" It is amazing what can be done through diet and exercise.
Now I understand that good nutrition does not mean any sort of deprivation, in fact I feel that I am eating extremely well, enjoying goods that are both smart and savory.
Thank to your guidance and Dr. Oettinger's willingness to work with me, I feel wonderfully in control of my diet. Now that I understand the right fuel for my body, it is easy to stick to it.
